Kilronan Castle Review
Our most recent trip to Kilronan Castle was just before Christmas in December 2015. I sent out lots of Snapchats of the hotel but I had a good few mails asking me specific questions which I hope to answer in this post. We have stayed at this hotel quite a few times now and each time we love it even more. It now is a place of really wonderful memories for us and we always enjoy going back. Kilronan Castle is a completely luxurious relaxation break, so if great food, drink and chilling in the SPA are your idea of a treat you are bound to love this.
On this trip it was a pretty special occasion.. my 30th birthday and it was treated accordingly! We had the most beautiful suite with a stunning 4 poster bed and a fantastic view of the lake, separate entrance area and a huge bathroom. The beds here are so comfy that coupled with being so relaxed always makes for a fantastic nights sleep!
On our first night we went to the bar for drinks and food. The bar is super cosy with a blazing open fire and a huge Christmas tree. Food was amazing – I always love the fish and chips in the bar! These guys and girls really know how to make a cocktail so I would highly recommend checking out their extensive cocktail menu, my absolute favourite is the Mojito!
The next day after a Champagne breakfast in bed we went for a walk around the beautiful grounds and then headed for the SPA. This is definitely one of the best SPAs I have ever been in and I especially love the hydrotherapy facilities I would in fact go as far as to say the best hydrotherapy facilities I have been in. I did not try any SPA treatment though so I can’t advise on those. We then retreated to the relaxation room. I was completely relaxed and didn’t know how I would get ready for the night ahead, I did manage with the assistance of a fab bottle of bubbles my bestie had sent to our room!
That evening we had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant 5 courses, amuse bouche and sorbet with the chefs compliments (nice little touch). Mr. C&HH’s would highly recommend the Cote de Boeuf! I couldn’t even finish my cheese board. However you have to try the cheese cake this is normally my fave! We then retreated for a few drinks and really got time to sit back and appreciate how lucky we are.
I would highly recommend Kilronan if you are after a really fabulous getaway where you can relax and enjoy great food and drink but Kilronan would be nothing without their outstanding staff this really is what sets them above the rest!
