Hi Lovelies and welcome back to Champagne & High Heels!
As promised I am going to give you guys all the details on our recent Staycation in Ireland. When I mentioned to a friend we were taking a few days holidays in Ireland their response was pretty underwhelming but you are going to see below how with the assistance of a bit of sun how overwhelming it can be!
We started off the the few days with a friends wedding in the beautiful Dunmore East, Waterford.
It is such a beautiful idyllic setting especially for a wedding. We checked into The Strand Inn and the first thing to note was the location! They are literally smack bang in the middle of the village. We couldn’t believe the view from our window we had the most stunning view of the bay.
Our room was fab and brekki the next morning was just what the doctor ordered! We payed €140 for the night but I would highly recommend it, we even got to see Kat & Alfie Filming their new spin of show from Eastenders! After a gorgeous night with friends we checked out and head for Cork.
We stayed in Cork with Friends in Carrigaline. We popped into the City for a stroll around Patrick Street & the English Market. Bustling & full of culture I could literally do my weeks shop there!!
That night we went to Bunny Connellans! This place came with glowing reviews from lots of snapchatters and it didn’t disappoint that’s for sure! Location, location, location is everything here! It is perched almost on the side of a cliff, the views are simply spectacular!
We unfortunately didn’t get a window seat but all the same it was gorgeous! As you can see below we really went for it on the food front 😂 Only complaint if I had to would be my steak was overdone for medium.. Otherwise it was fab and we are looking forward to the next trip!
We were up bright and early the next day and headed to Kerry. We had booked a hotel called the Sneem Hotel through the Supervalu Getaway Breaks it was fantastic value! €170 for 3 nights of you book midweek with the Supervalu Getaway Breaks you get the 3rd night absolutely free and this rate included breakfast. Some of you will have seen on Snapchat @candhhblog snaps of the hotel and in particular the room with a really impressive balcony however, we were upgraded to this room due to issues we had with the first night in the room we got so just keep that in mind if booking that it is unlikely that you will get the same room as there are only 3 rooms with baloney’s from what I could see. To be fair the receptionist was fab, apologied over and over and moved us to “their best room” straight away. I would absolutely stay here again even with the couple of issues we had, I found their own menu somewhat expensive and not a massive selection but there is a good selection of restaurants & bars in the village and it is located about 20 mins outside Kenmare and literally on the cusp of some of the most fabulous view I have even seen.
If you are after hustle bustle I would recommend staying more in the heart of Killarney, Tralee or Dingle but it was perfect for us as we were out all day sightseeing then enjoyed a bite to eat & a few quiet drinks at night.
This little guy is a permanent resident at the hotel! So sweet just chilling out doing his own thing the most relaxed dog I have ever met, he could teach my two a thing or two!
The scenery in the area was unbelievable, literally like something out of a movie you could be forgiven for mistaking the marine blue sea and pale blue skies for the Mediterranean! We pretty much followed the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ring of Kerry, we also found a few fab deserted beaches that we had all to ourselves! Breathtaking.
Top tip for Sneem – pop into Annie’s Ice-Cream Shop you won’t regret it that’s for sure!
I hope you enjoyed reading, if you have any questions as always don’t be afraid to ask.
